Everything in this life has consequences; even the
smallest and most insignificant things. Take, for example, something as
appealing and simple as preparing chocolate. The kitchen becomes a magical
stage where we pour out our creativity and our hopes, knowing that the reward
is getting closer and closer… But… that, too, has consequences.
I wanted to capture this in this poem, where two young
girls set out to enjoy an afternoon preparing chocolate. While one of them
becomes an “expert” cook, the other watches in amazement and documents the
entire process through her photographs.
It might seem that this scene has nothing poetic about
it, yet my poetic inspiration managed to turn it into a poem that, beyond
making us smile, should lead us to reflect on deeper things…
CHOCOLATE
Chaos in the kitchen!
I’ve thrown myself into it like a madwoman,
preparing chocolate,
while you watch, captivated,
at the mess and the absolute lack
of cleanliness.
Making a mess in the kitchen,
staining everything in my path,
I’m enjoying it like crazy, and you
barely speak, rubbing
your gray eyes and taking photos,
one after another.
It’s almost done now,
and I invite you to enjoy it.
“Who will clean all this up?”
“Tomorrow, God will decide!”

A chance encounter will take him far away, on a thrilling adventure full of action and emotion that will change his life... but also the lives of everyone around him…
