(Sunday Poetry Corner) You don’t know him, and yet you’ve spoken to him many
times through the Internet. You’re aware of the abyss that separates you, and
I’m not just referring to the thousands of kilometers, but also to the
differences in age, race, culture, and personal history… Even so, you feel the
need to talk to him, to find solace in your unchosen (or perhaps chosen)
loneliness…
WHO IS THAT MAN?
Who is
that man who writes to you?
Who writes your name so often
and opens his heart to you,
offering the comfort
of his soul’s embrace,
from more than a thousand kilometers away,
for you to rest?
And what do you tell him?
Why do you open your life to him
and invite him in,
to know the intimate
corners of your refuge?
Perhaps they are two worlds,
opposites that meet,
because deep down they share
the same desire,
a need
to feel their loneliness
shared.
Who is
that man who writes to you?
It’s me.
that man who writes to you?
Who writes your name so often
and opens his heart to you,
offering the comfort
of his soul’s embrace,
from more than a thousand kilometers away,
for you to rest?
Why do you open your life to him
and invite him in,
to know the intimate
corners of your refuge?
opposites that meet,
because deep down they share
the same desire,
a need
to feel their loneliness
shared.
that man who writes to you?
It’s me.
A chance encounter will take him far away, on a thrilling adventure full of action and emotion that will change his life... but also the lives of everyone around him…
