International SOS, a company specializing in health and safety, has compiled a list of the most dangerous countries to visit, with Afghanistan topping the ranking. Following closely in terms of risk are Syria, Libya, the Central African Republic, and Iraq. However, as the report also points out, countries like Mali, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan, and Ukraine are nearly as hazardous.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the safest countries for travelers are led by Norway, followed by Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, and Luxembourg.
